Parents of 4-year-olds who wish to enroll their children in the 2012-13 Pre-K progam available at seven CCSD school sites will be able to register April 30-May 11 at the following participating schools: Ball Ground ES, Canton ES, Hasty ES, Oak Grove ES, RM Moore ES, Little River Preschool and Ralph Bunche Center.  Parents may bring the required registration materials to the school between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; students who are 4 years old on or before September 1, 2012 are eligible.  As interest in the program generally outpaces available slots, names will be drawn on May 17 to determine the enrollment rosters for 2012-13.  Students living outside the attendance zone for the participating school will be eligible for any unfilled slots only after those registrations within the zone have been accommodated.
Funded by the Georgia Lottery, each of the Pre-K program sites will have one class of 22 students; the Little River site will accommodate two classes.  Approximately 30 private providers in Cherokee County also offer the Lottery-funded Pre-K program.  Parents can search for locations closest to them on the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning  website at http://www.decal.ga.gov/.  Private providers set their own Pre-K registration dates and should be contacted directly.  See attached for documents needed for registration.
