Welcome to Nurse Betty's Clinic

Our clinic, staffed by a Registered Nurse, is limited to minor first aid and medication administration. Our school nurse will administer medication under the following guidelines:

Prescription Medication must be in the original pharmacy container. The written instructions on the container for dosage and administration times will be followed. A new container must be provided for change in dosage or time. A Medication Authorization Form (located below under Information) will be completed by the parent/guardian for each medication.

Over-The-Counter Medication must be in the original sealed container. Dosage will not exceed instructions on the label regardless of parental instructions. OTC medications will be given for only 7 consecutive days. A physician's approval form must be completed for longer treatment. A Medication Authorization Form (located below under Information) will be completed by the parent/guardian for each medication.

For the safety of all students, please bring medication to the school office in person; students are not permitted to carry medication on the bus for safety reasons. The clinic is open from 9:00am to 2:00pm during the school day.

Any child with a temperature higher than 100 degrees or vomiting will be required to go home. Please do not send children who feel ill to school; this is in everyone’s best health interest.

It is extremely important that you keep an updated telephone number on file in the office in case of emergencies. If your home or work number changes, please notify the office immediately.

Thank you,

Betty Miller, RN, BSN
