Students Win Science Fair Regionals

Off to State Competition!
Three sixth graders from Chapman Intermediate School won first place at the Northwest Georgia Regional Science Fair held Saturday, February 6th.  Winning first place in the Chemistry Division were Lindsey Davis, Bura Iruku and Samantha McMullen, who will advance to the State Science & Englineering Fair to be held in Athens on March 31 to April 2, 2010.  Seventeen counties were invited to send their top projects, and their project on Brittle Bones received top honors.  Thanks to science fair coordinators Mrs. Walton and Mrs. Rewitzer.  Chapman is extremely proud of these students!

 

 

February Fundraising Events for Haiti at Chapman Intermediate

Chapman again excels in its giving and caring spirit! This Friday is the “kick-off” for weekly events or themes scheduled for Chapman by Chapman students and staff to support Haiti following the devastating earthquake.  Each Friday a different theme is sponsored and the $1.00 collected per child will be saved for a grand total contribution to the American Red Cross. 

The following are planned for students at Chapman:

          Hearts for Haiti (wear red hearts made and sold by Student Council and Beta Club) -Fri., Feb 12

          Hats for Haiti (wear your favorite hat all day) - Fri., Feb 26 

To participate in each event, students are asked to contribute $1.00.  Money will go toward a final contribution from Chapman Intermediate School to the American Red Cross efforts in Haiti.
