REGISTRATION PROCESS
Each year students choose their courses for the next year during late January and early February. All registration events can be found on the "registration Calendar" and "registration Timeline" in the Documents section
Students receive the registration forms and instructions in a Homeroom in mid-January. Students and parents then make course decisions, sign the forms and return the forms to school. Students will meet individually with their counselors to discuss their course choices and plans. students and parents should refer to the Course Description Guide for descriptions of the courses, prerequisites and years offered.
Once the forms have been submitted, families have until approximately May 1 to make changes. After May 1, the Master Schedule will be constructed, making schedule changes more difficult. Therefore, after May 1 schedule changes can only be considered on a case-by-case basis.
At the beginning of each semester schedule adjustments will be considered, however after two weeks schedule changes can no longer be made because of the "Seat-hour rule". According to the Georgia Department of Education website, "Currently seat time requirements are 150 clock hours of instruction per unit of credit:. This breaks down to 75 seat hours per 1/2 unit of credit or semester.
