"I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Ohio. I attended Wingate University in North Carolina, where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree. After college, I taught fifth grade for two years in Charlotte, North Carolina. Next, I moved to Florida in 2002, where I taught first, fourth, and fifth grade. While there I met my husband, Josh, who is now a teacher and the head football coach at Cherokee High School. In 2006, we moved to Cherokee County. I taught second grade for five years and one year of ESOL at Boston Elementary School. While at Boston Elementary School in 2008 our son, Trey, came into this world. The following year I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. We also have two Labrador puppies named Kane Diesel and Kiya Kinzee. Currently, I am looking forward to a wonderful year with the students and families represented at Oak Grove Elementary Fine Arts Academy."
