Congrats to our baseball team on their big win over Dalton last night in 11 innings! Today River Ridge baseball will host Dalton in a doubleheader starting @ 5. Come out to the ball park to cheer on your Knights!


Also please come support boys tennis at home for the sweet 16 @ 4 pm TODAY.


Attention Students – are you looking for something fun to do this summer? Why not volunteer as a student instructor at Safety Town – a program that teaches safety messages to young children.  Safety Town will be held in June at Bascomb Elementary School.  All student volunteers receive community service credit for their participation.  Stop in the counseling office today and pick up an information packet!


You’re Invited! The 2013 Annual High School Art Exhibit will be at the Cherokee Arts Center from April 25th through May 1st.  Please make sure to stop by and visit.



THIS THURSDAY ONLY …..THE RRHS Drama Department is presenting “BACK TO THE 80s” and it is on SALE. THAT’S RIGHT…….TONIGHT is BYE TWO – GET TWO Tickets FREE night at the theater. So that means that FOUR of you can get in for the price of TWO. This is only good on the Thursday Night Performance.

Any senior male planning on attending KSU next year can complete a scholarship application sponsored by the Theta Chi Fraternity.    Scholarship information is located in the counseling office.

Just a reminder that our final Leadership Academy for the year will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.   The cost is Free with breakfast and lunch being provided.      This will be a great jumping on point for those of you interested in getting involved and taking over a leadership position next year.

Students interested in participating in Super Special Saturday on May 4th can sign up in the counseling office.    This is a full day of activities aimed at working with Special Needs students.   Activities kick off at 9:20 a.m. with Challenger Baseball and we will end the day chaperoning the Friends Formal at the Cherokee Rec Center from 7 pm to 10 pm.    More information is available in the counseling office.

Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors - remember your course corrections for next year must be turned in no later than Friday, May 3rd.    There will be NO more schedule changes allowed after that day!   So if you are missing a class or not sure about an elective you need to make sure that you get it corrected now because after May 3rd no changes will be granted.

There will be a MANDATORY meeting for ALL volunteering for Special Olympics on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:30 a.m.    We will be going over job assignments and expectations of conduct and participation.    If you do not attend this meeting you will not be volunteering at the event on May 1st.

Any student interested in playing football for the Knights next fall, please see Coach Braucht in Alt school during your lunch.  Spring football starts May 6th.


Attention Seniors, Herff Jones will be at River Ridge during lunch on Wednesday May 1st for cap/gown and announcement delivery.

Girls won last night against Southwest Dekalb 15-12.  Goals led by Mary Graham, Rachel Prater, Sierra Haas, Avery Blackmon, Lilli Mansell, and Zoe Richards.

There will be a Wrestling meeting on Wednesday May 1st in Coach Rice’s room for all returning wrestlers and anyone interested in wrestling next season at 8am.


Attention all upcoming 10th-12th graders!  If you are interested in college scholarships, competing against others and being a leader, then there new Technology Student Association is for you.  TSA is open to anyone enrolled in a CTAE course, and offers opportunities for college scholarships, competitions, and field trips to places like Washington, DC, Jekyll Island South Carolina, and even more. There will be an informational meeting with snacks provided in room 1308 on Thursday, May 2nd after 2nd bell.  Please make sure your rides are here promptly at 4:30.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Haggerty in room 1308.
