Greetings Woodstock Middle School stakeholders,
Woodstock Middle School (WMS) currently has three openings available on the WMS School Council. Serving on the School Council is an opportunity for parents/guardians to come together with school administration, teachers, and business leaders in our community to participate in the school improvement and student achievement process. School councils shall provide advice, recommendations, and assistance related to topics encompassing the total school environment and represents the community of parents and businesses.
The requirements for the open positions state that you must be a parent or guardian of a student currently enrolled at Woodstock Middle School. Interested individuals must be willing to serve for a two year term and attend quarterly meetings at the school.
The meetings for the 2013-2014 school year are as follows:
· Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at WMS
· Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at WMS
· Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at WMS
· Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at WMS
If you would be interested in nominating someone or yourself, please send a nomination in writing, by fax, letter, or e-mail to Mark Smith, Principal at WMS. Mr. Smith’s e-mail is mark.smith@cherokee.k12.ga.us. All nominations must be received by Friday, August 23, 2013.
Elections will be held over a two night period (6th grade Open House / Curriculum Night and again on the 7th and 8th grade Open House / Curriculum Night) with the highest vote recipients joining the School Council. Ballots will be counted at that time and you will be contacted by a member of the WMS School Council. Only one vote per household is allowed.
Please include in your nomination the parent(s)/guardian(s) name, student name, contact information (phone number, e-mail, etc.) and home address.
