Sequoyah Regional Library System Summer Reading Program
The Sequoyah Regional Library System, a CCSD Partner, offers a summer of special activities and incentives to encourage students of all ages to continue reading over the summer. More information is online here.
Georgia Reading Campaign
Get Georgia Reading partner Renaissance is again delivering thousands of free books—plus engaging daily news articles—to computer and mobile devices. Young readers can search from several different categories and genres, including books for struggling readers and Spanish and bilingual titles. Families in Georgia can register to join Renaissance myON’s digital reading platform beginning on May 3 and already have access to Get Georgia Reading at Home, a comprehensive online catalog that offers early learning resources for children from birth through age 5 and helps develop skills for students in grades K – 3.
Georgia Summer Resource Online Toolkit
Public and private partners across Georgia—including the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL), Georgia Family Connection Partnership, Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, Georgia Public Library Service, Georgia Public Broadcasting, and Governor’s Office of Student Achievement—have come together to create this online toolkit with resources for summer reading, learning, safety, and meals. GeorgiaSummer.org opens in May to give every family in Georgia access.
Ready Math Challenge, June 1-30, 2021
Calling all K-5 students! Continue your i-Ready journey by completing lessons over the summer. Just 15 minutes a day or 45 minutes a week will earn elementary students a prize in August! CCSD students can log in at home the same way they do for digital learning.
K-5 Grade Level Digital Book Clubs, June 7 – 25, 2021
CCSD will offer three weeks of online reading adventures as we celebrate a Summer Safari of Reading. Join us for three fun-filled weeks of reading with a weekly, live interaction with a grade level CCSD instructor. Week One will feature the theme Paws, Claws, Scales, and Tales. The theme for Week Two is Book a Trip. We’ll wrap up our virtual reading adventures with Wild About Reading! Sign up to participate in this digital experience using this LINK. Participating elementary students will earn a prize when they return to school in August.
Discovery Education Digital Summer STEM Camps, July 12 – 23, 2021
CCSD is offering a free virtual Summer STEM Camp for all current Kindergarten through 5th Grade students. The theme is: Inspiring Minds – What in the World Will Inspire You to Learn Something New? Join us for 10 days of exciting topics, hands-on activities, virtual field trips, and spotlights on careers! What will inspire YOU? Note: login instructions for this camp will be available in early July.

Books & Bundts Youth Reading Program
CCSD students in PreK through eighth grade can earn a free "Bundtlet" (a small bundt cake) from Nothing Bundt Cakes in Woodstock for each month they read and track at least 400 minutes from June 1 - July 31. Learn more online here.
