A Bascomb Elementary School teacher has been recognized for her legacy of service to the American Heart Association!

Longtime PE teacher Nettie Mosteller, who is retiring at the end of the school year, was surprised by the Association with the special recognition and plaque presentation.

From 2007-2017, Coach Mosteller raised more than $168,780 for the Association, a CCSD Partner, by participating in Jump Rope for Heart.  Bascomb ES this year reported the greatest percentage of students in CCSD committing to a heart healthy challenge – more than 45%… ranking in the top 10 for schools statewide and top 100 nationally.  Over her career in Georgia and Texas, each school where she has held an event for the Association has ranked in the top 25 schools statewide for participation rate and dollars raised.
