Sequoyah HS Student Named Regional Winner

A Cherokee County School District student has won a regional art contest!

Sequoyah High School rising senior Franky Carroll is the District 1 regional winner for the 24th Annual Georgia Farm Bureau High School Art Contest.  She won $100 for placing first in the District, which includes 15 counties in northwest Georgia.  The statewide contest is open to students in grades 9-12.

The Cherokee County Farm Bureau sponsored the school and county contests; Franky won the Sequoyah High and Cherokee County competitions prior to advancing to the District level.  She earned a $125 Walmart gift card for her school and county honors.  Her artwork also is featured on the front of the Cherokee Farm Bureau’s Safety Camp T-shirts and the cover of its annual meeting program.

“I’m proud of Franky for being the Georgia Farm Bureau 1st District winner,” Cherokee County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Chairman Jeannie Ross said.  “On behalf of Cherokee County Farm Bureau, I would like to thank the students and teachers who participated in our art contest, increasing the awareness of Georgia agriculture and the significant impact it has on our daily lives.”
