Hightower, Tribune Managing Editor Gary Tanner, Education Reporter Shannon Ballew, Sports Editor Patrick O’Shea, and School Board member Rick Steiner.

Cherokee County School District leaders today enjoyed the annual Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News – CCSD Partnership lunch!

For nearly two decades, the newspaper has hosted school leaders for a yearly back-to-school luncheon at Williamson Bros Bar-B-Q in Canton to thank them for their service to the community.

Cherokee County School Board members, the Superintendent of Schools, all CCSD Principals and Cherokee County Council of PTA leaders attended the event, which also is an opportunity for the leaders and journalists to better get to know each other.

“We appreciate not only the generosity of this luncheon, but also our longtime partnership and shared goals of educating our community and helping make it an even better place to live,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “The Tribune makes covering our schools a priority in its daily coverage, its weekly school news photo page and, just this month, upped their investment by publishing our first-ever CCSD magazine, Class Act.”
