
Dr. Carolyn Daugherty, Principal
Dr. Carolyn Daugherty is beginning her 23rd year with the Cherokee County School District. A resident of Cherokee County since 1987, Dr. Daugherty graduated from Etowah High School before pursing her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. Additionally, Dr. Daugherty holds a master’s degree from Jacksonville State University (Administration), as well as a specialist degree (Administration & Supervision) and doctorate (Executive Leadership) from Lincoln Memorial University.
Over the course of her tenure with the Cherokee County School District, Dr. Daugherty has taught at Little River, Chapman, and Carmel Elementary Schools. Her experience as an administrator began as a Teacher on Special Assignment at R. M. Moore Elementary before being promoted to Assistant Principal at Chapman Intermediate School and later Johnston Elementary. She has served as the principal at Macedonia Elementary for the last five years where she was honored to act as the Creekview HS Innovation Zone Lead Principal for the last two years.
Dr. Daugherty married her high school sweetheart, Jason, who owns his own wealth management firm in Woodstock, and they live in Towne Lake with their two rescue dogs, Giles and Gillian. Dr. Daugherty is honored to be back home in the Towne Lake Community and looks forward to many amazing years to come.

Mrs. Courtney Shaw, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Shaw received her Bachelor’s Degree from Wingate University in North Carolina. She earned a Master’s Degree from Kennesaw State University in Educational Leadership. She also has an ESOL Endorsement. Mrs. Shaw started her career teaching fifth grade in North Carolina. Her next journey took her to Florida where she taught first, fourth, and fifth grades before moving to Georgia. While in Cherokee County, Mrs. Shaw taught second grade and ESOL for six years at Boston Elementary. In 2012, she became the Assistant Principal at Oak Grove Fine Arts Academy. Mrs. Shaw was appointed as an Assistant Principal at Bascomb in 2016.
Mrs. Shaw married her husband, Josh, in 2003. They have one son, Trey, who attends Teasley Middle School. Josh is the head football coach at Cherokee High School. They have two dogs, Kane, and Kobe. As a family, they love sports, and going to the lake.

Ms. Jessi Currie, Assistant Principal
Ms. Currie is a Georgia native and grew up in Golden Isles of Georgia. She received her bachelor’s degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Early Childhood Education, Master’s Degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Early Childhood Education and Specialist’s Degree from Piedmont College in Curriculum and Instruction. She has a Gifted Endorsement and an Instructional Coaching Endorsement. Ms. Currie began her teaching career in Savannah, Georgia. She joined the Cherokee County School District in 2008. She has experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. She also served as the Instructional Lead Strategist at Indian Knoll Elementary. Ms. Currie was appointed as an Assistant Principal at Bascomb in 2020.
