Good Afternoon RedHawk Nation,

We hope that you have had a wonderful week with family and friends!

STEM PENNY WARSCOMING SOON...March 2nd – 6th - Proceeds will go to project-based learning supplies.  Start saving now!

We are excited to share that Ms. Karen Garland has been selected as one of the 2020 Georgia STEM Scholars GYSTC!  She is being recognized for her outstanding efforts to engage and improve student learning in STEM disciplines.  Thank you, Ms. Garland, for investing in our kids!

3rd Grade Parents:  Please join us on February 25th at 5:30 pm in the media center for a GA Milestones informational meeting.

CFA Dinner this week!  This Thursday the ELA/Reading committee will be hosting a reading night at Chick-fil-a starting at 5:00.  Come on out and support Clark Creek and our ELA representatives.  We will have some fun games for the students to play.  Enjoy food and friendship with the RedHawks.

Word of the Week: Cooperation – Working together for a common purpose.  Our character words are important for Red Hawks to not only know but also exhibit inside and outside of school. How to be a Cooperative person:

DIGITAL LEARNING DAY – Students do not attend school on this day.  Students will utilize a Digital Learning Day on Tuesday, March 24, which is Presidential Primary Election Day in Georgia.  Many CCSD schools are used as polling sites, which creates additional traffic and security concerns around our schools.  Students will work from home that day.

Teachers will share additional information with students about Digital Learning Days through Canvas announcements, including how they will support students learning during the day. Teachers will also be available online during designated “office hours” to assist students if necessary, via email:

  • 9:00 am-10:30 am - Elementary Teacher Virtual Hours
  • 10:00 am-11:30 am – Middle and High School Teacher Virtual Hours

Parents who need to set up a Canvas parent account can do so by accessing instructions at https://www.cherokeek12.net/Content2/canvas.

ASP Balances:  Effective Monday, February 24th, if your ASP balance is $50 or more, your child will no longer be able to stay in the ASP program.  The Cherokee County ASP program is a pre-paid program and all accounts should be paid in advance of a student’s stay in the program.  You will need to make other arrangements until your account is brought up to balance.  Once you have brought your account up to balance and have pre-paid for additional days, then your child will be allowed to stay in the program.  If you have any questions regarding your account balance, please contact Staci Josef, ASP bookkeeper or Jonathan Hall, ASP Coordinator.

FROM PTA:

The Box Tops Drive ends this week on Wednesday, February 26th!!!  The easiest way is to SCAN your receipt in the app.  But you can also CLIP the label from participating products, attach to a piece of paper labeled with your student's name and homeroom teacher, and turn it into your student's teacher.  The homeroom class that submits the most box tops by the deadline gets a popsicle party and that homeroom teacher will get a $25 gift card to Oriental Trading!
