CCSD Students Place at Statewide 4-H Competition

CCSD 2020 4H Georgia Winners 5 21 2020

Fourteen Cherokee County School District students placed at the statewide Georgia 4-H Project Achievement Competition!

The competition was held virtually, with students in grades 4-8 showcasing their knowledge in a topic of interest.  For the contest, students choose an area of interest, researched the topic and then wrote and presented a report. 

“Congratulations to each of these state champions for their initiative and dedication!” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “The 4-H program offers our students outstanding opportunities to learn, lead and serve, and we appreciate all of the volunteers who make this possible.”

CCSD’s winners and the areas in which they competed are: 

FIRST PLACE

Riley Homier, sixth grade, Creekland MS, Outdoor Survival Skills
Mackenzie Major, fifth grade, Ball Ground ES STEM Academy, Horse
Tilly Ohman, fourth grade, Johnston ES, Creative Stitchery
Max Williams, sixth grade, Dean Rusk MS, Historic People

SECOND PLACE

Andrew Heydt, fifth grade, Clark Creek ES STEM Academy, Historical Events/Places

THIRD PLACE
