CCSD students are invited to enter CCSD's Fire Safety Essay & Poster Contests by Sept. 9.
To raise awareness in observation of National Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 6-12, CCSD's Office of Safety & Security, in collaboration with Cherokee County Office of Fire & Emergency Services and Woodstock Fire Department, will sponsor districtwide fire safety contests. The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) theme is: “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!”
The poster contest is for students in grades K-5; the essay contest is for students in grades 6-12. Entries must reflect the NFPA theme. A first-, second- and third-place winner will be selected for each grade level by a review committee made up of sponsor representatives. The winners for each grade level will be entered into the State contest sponsored by Georgia’s Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner.
Entry forms are online here. Entries must be submitted to your child's Principal by 4 p.m. Sept. 9.
