Eighteen Cherokee County School District high school students have been selected for the elite Georgia Governor’s Honors Program!
The statewide summer honors program for select rising high school juniors and seniors offers four weeks of college-level instruction at Berry College in Rome.
Students receive academic instruction, and cultural and social enrichment focused on helping them become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators and leaders.
The CCSD students selected for this program are: of Cherokee HS, Reed Charleston for Mathematics, DJ Kinney for Engineering, Sean Lauzon for Music; of Creekview HS, Daniella Pelcastre for Visual Arts; of Etowah HS, Jacob Aguirre for World Languages, Abby Farquhar for World Languages, Beth Leak for Theatre; of River Ridge HS, Ragan Martin for Visual Arts, Sathvika Narasimhan for Engineering, Shawn Pradeep for World Languages; of Sequoyah HS, Alyssa Kirby for Communicative Arts, Elizabeth Williams for Music; of Woodstock HS, Sophia Abbott for Communicative Arts, Laney Broussard for Communicative Arts, Hayden Johnson for Mathematics, Camilo Rincon for Social Studies, Kate Meredith for Social Studies, Sadah Schell for Science.
They will be recognized by the Cherokee County School Board and Superintendent of Schools at the School Board's May 16 meeting.
