The Cherokee County School Board has recognized the winner of the inaugural LGE Community Credit Union Scholarship!
The newly established Partnership Agreement between the School Board and credit union specifies one $5,000 scholarship will be awarded by the Bank to a graduating senior from a CCSD high school each year, with a focus on outstanding community service. The Class of 2019 winner selected by the credit union’s scholarship committee is Chase Thomas of Etowah High School!
“Chase stood out because of his ability to see needs within the organizations he serves and act on fulfilling those needs, i.e. weekly food deliveries to children he tutors,” said Linda Coyle, business development officer for LGE, noting they received numerous excellent applications. “Not to mention the almost 600 hours of service he has contributed to our community this school year!”
LGE representatives joined the School Board in making the special presentation at its May meeting.
