The window for school choice reassignments for 2021-22 within the Cherokee County School District is February 1-March 1. This includes applications for CCSD STEM and Fine Arts Academies.
Fifteen CCSD elementary schools are “open” for the 2020-21 school year (meaning classroom space is available to accommodate students from outside the attendance zone) for requests, including five of the seven CCSD STEM and Fine Arts Academies. Three middle schools and two high schools are also open, thanks to increased capacity from Ed SPLOST construction projects.
Information and application forms are accessible on the Forms page.
More than 2,100 CCSD students currently utilize reassignment to select a school outside their attendance zone.
Requests for STEM and Fine Arts Academies must be made within the same time frame with the same application (linked above).
Information about all CCSD school choice initiatives is shared in this document, CHOICES.
High school choice options outlined in the CHOICES document (virtual school, dual enrollment, etc.) have varying timelines depending upon the program; parents should contact their child’s counselor to discuss these opportunities.
