CCSD Students Earn State Honors at Technology Competition

CCSD 2023 State Technology Fair Winners 3 21 23

Cherokee County School District students earned top honors at the annual Georgia Student Technology Competition!
Four CCSD students earned first place awards and one placed third at the statewide competition held this month in Forsyth County.  The annual program offers students in Grades 3-12 the opportunity to showcase their skills through 16 categories and vie for honors at regional and state events.

Winning first-place in their events are: of Creekview HS, sophomore Ryan Cartmill for Graphic Design; of Etowah HS, junior Nicholas Knerr for Digital Game Design and junior Marissa Migneco for Graphic Design; and of Indian Knoll ES, fourth-grader Dominic Roppo for Productivity Design.  Arnold Mill ES fourth-grader Dylan Patel won third place in Mobile Apps.
“Congratulations to our state technology champs – we’re very proud of your dedication and success!” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “This competition program offers our students outstanding opportunities, from developing their creativity and problem solving skills to mastering technical knowledge that will help them in technology careers.  We appreciate our teachers and our Office of Technology & Information Services for the work you all put into teaching our students learn STEM skills and helping them succeed in this competition.”
The Cherokee County School Board and Dr. Hightower will recognize the state winners at the April School Board meeting.
