Indian Knoll Elementary School for the second consecutive year has earned a global honor recognizing its dedication to effectively using technology for teaching and learning!

The school has been selected by Microsoft as a 2022-23 Microsoft Showcase School in honor of its successful use of educational technology to benefit students and teachers.  Only 43 U.S. schools were selected as Showcase Schools, and only two Georgia schools were named to the list.

“Being named to this list is an exceptional accomplishment, and it’s even more impressive for Indian Knoll to earn this recognition for two years in a row,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “Congratulations and thank you to the teachers and staff who continue to invest their time learning to better leverage technology and improve instruction for our students.”

As a Showcase School, Indian Knoll ES receives additional Microsoft resources and support and the opportunity to share innovative best practices with schools worldwide.  Indian Knoll is led by Principal Kim Cerasoli, with technology lab teacher Kristen Brooks and media specialist Jennifer Lewis heading up the school’s educational technology programs.

“Indian Knoll Elementary School is part of an elite group of schools that exemplify the best of teaching and learning in the world today,” said Rick Herrmann, vice president of worldwide education for Microsoft.  “Its teachers and staff are pioneers in education … recognized and celebrated for educational transformation that includes vision and innovation in teaching, learning, and preparing students for the future.”
