There is a direct correlation between academic performance and student attendance. Chronic tardiness and early checkouts to school and truancy are not acceptable behaviors. Upon returning to school after being absent, students should bring a note from home explaining the absence. Students must attend at least one-half of the academic day to be counted present.  Students checking in before 11:00 AM will be considered present.  It is crucially important that parents make every effort to have their children attend school and avoid all absences that are not necessary.

  • Children should arrive at school between 7:00 AM and 7:35 AM.  Students may not arrive at school prior to 7:00 AM as staff supervision is not available at the car line.
  • Dismissal time for students is 2:15 PM.
  • A written excuse must be presented to the teacher upon return to school after any absence.

  • It is important that a student arrive at school in time to be in class by 7:35 AM.
  • Students arriving after 7:35 AM must be accompanied by a parent to the office to sign-in and receive a tardy slip to be taken to the teacher.
  • Heavy traffic conditions are not an excused tardy. Students riding a school bus are never marked tardy.
  • Car riders who choose to eat breakfast at school need to arrive by 7:25 AM.

  • Parents are required to come into the school office to check a child out of school.
  • Checkouts must be done prior to 1:45 PM.  To ensure students’ safety, please do not request a checkout after 1:45 PM.
  • Students may not be checked out to attend parties or activities in the classroom of a sibling.  Students who are checked out early from a party or field trip will be unexcused.
  •  Driver’s license must be shown at checkout.
