On behalf of the Superintendent, please be advised of the following reminders and updates:

SPRING BREAK
CCSD schools and offices will be closed Monday, April 5, through Friday, April, 9, with classes resuming April 12.  We ask that all students and their families please follow COVID-19 safety precautions over the break, including social distancing, wearing a mask, staying home when you’re sick, and getting tested if you’re symptomatic or if you have had a close contact with someone who is positive.  If you will be travelling during the break, please review the CDC’s guidance at http://bit.ly/covidtravel21; CCSD is not requiring students quarantine due to travel, but if you choose to self-quarantine your children for this reason, please let your child’s school know.

CCSD will not be updating its COVID-19 case reports webpages during the break, but please continue to report any positive COVID-19 test for a student to their school by emailing the Principal.  In the event of a positive case in your family, please follow quarantine instructions and limit interaction with non-family members.

Reminder: CCSD School Nutrition will distribute bags of free to-go meals from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, April 2, in the designated areas at schools (https://bit.ly/CCSDtogomeals) for all families who ordered these Spring Break meals for students by Tuesday’s deadline.

DIGITAL LEARNING DECLARATION
If you want to enroll your child in Digital Learning for the first semester of the 2021-22 School Year, the CCSD Digital Learning Declaration Form must be completed by 4 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021.  This form is online at http://bit.ly/CCSDdl21 in English and at http://bit.ly/CCSDdlES21 in Spanish.  A separate form is needed for each child you want to enroll full time in Digital Learning.  You do not need to complete the form if your child will attend in-person school.  More information about Digital Learning for next school year is online at http://bit.ly/CCSDdlinfo21.

SUMMER SCHOOL
CCSD will offer five Summer School programs.  In-person and online classes will be offered from June 3-23 for high school students who need credit recovery.  Initial credit courses will be offered June 3-23 to rising ninth-graders in Personal Fitness, to be held in-person, and Health, to be held online.  There are fees for these courses.  Information is online at http://bit.ly/CCSDhsss21.  Three programs will be offered to students in need of additional academic help, as designated by their school: Extended School Year for Special Education students (in-person or online); Math Acceleration for rising eighth-graders (online); Middle School Bridge for rising ninth-graders (online).  There is no charge for these programs.  Your child’s school will contact you if your child is eligible for one of these programs.  Digital resources will be available to all elementary and middle school students who want to continue and/or review learning independently over the summer break; more information will be shared later this spring.  If you have questions about these programs, please contact your child’s school for more information.
