Thirty-five Cherokee County School District students earned honors through the 2020-21 Georgia PTA Reflections fine arts contest!

The annual competition offers students in all grades and abilities the opportunity to create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.  Students can earn recognition at the School, District, State and National levels.  This year's theme was “I Matter Because …”

First-, second- and third-place awards were presented winners at the county level.  The first- and second-place winners advanced to the State competition, where 35 CCSD students placed including 14 winning first-place awards.  Six of CCSD’s State first-place winners advanced to the National competition.

“We value the arts as an important part of every student’s learning experience and greatly appreciate the PTA for recognizing artistic excellence,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “Congratulations to all of our award-winning artists – we are proud of your creativity and dedication.”

The Cherokee County School Board and Dr. Hightower will honor the students with a virtual recognition at the May School Board meeting.
