CCSD Received 1,200th Online #thanksCCSD Submission!

MCMS 1200

Since our #thanksCCSD initiative began three years ago, thousands of our employees have felt the love of their community.  Students have shared through #thanksCCSD how teachers, nurses, counselors, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, custodians, secretaries and more have made a positive difference in their lives.

Each CCSD school provides students the opportunity to fill out #thanksCCSD notecards with tributes to specific teachers and staff.  Students also can make submissions online using the #thanksCCSD button on the CCSD and school websites.  Schools use the #thanksCCSD notes to recognize teachers and staff at the school level.  Schools also submit one of the notes to CCSD’s Office of Communications each month to be posted on our social media platforms with a photo of the student who shared thanks.  From those submissions, one honored staff member, and the student who thanked them, is recognized by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower with a surprise visit to their school and a $25 Visa gift card donated by Credit Union of Georgia!

“Each month, it is one of my greatest highlights,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said of the surprise presentations.  “It’s amazing to see how a few words of gratitude can lift someone’s spirits.  Our employees are such hardworking individuals who care deeply about every single student in their building.  This initiative has given students a special way to thank them, and their messages are touching and inspiring.”

Just last week, CCSD received its 1,200th online #thanksCCSD submission!  Dr. Hightower made a special recognition presentation to Mill Creek MS sixth-grader Anya Chand, who made the submission, and Mill Creek MS teacher Lee Smith, whom she had thanked.  Through the generosity of Credit Union of Georgia, each received a $100 Visa gift card presented by Cherokee Area Manager Jason Blakey! #thanksCCSD  #CCSDfam
