A Cherokee County School District teacher recently came to the rescue for a student!
Mill Creek Middle School seventh-grade teacher Leslie Coleman performed the Heimlich maneuver to rescue student Chloe Weeks from choking.
"Ms. Coleman showed strong, calm and caring leadership in a situation that would test the most veteran of educators," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. "She did exactly what she trained to do should a student or colleague experience a medical emergency, and she did it with the highest levels of professionalism. I know the entire School Board joins me in expressing this appreciation and gratitude."
