Can you remember a teacher or another school staff member from your childhood who made a positive difference in your life? Did you ever thank them?
“We know our School District is a family of caring teachers, counselors, bus drivers, cafeteria staff and many more, all focused on doing their best to serve our students … and a new districtwide initiative will now give students the opportunity to thank them!” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “We’re excited to begin #thanksCCSD and honor those among us who go above and beyond.”
Through #thanksCCSD, students can thank a CCSD staff member by filling out a notecard and placing it in a special box (lettered by Woodstock High School Teacher of the Year Isobel Mason and her students) at their school. While students have the opportunity to fill out a card at school, they also can complete an online form at any time using the #thanksCCSD button on the homepage of the CCSD website and on every school’s homepage.
Schools will use these thank-you notes for recognition at the school level and will share some with CCSD’s Office of Communications for posting on CCSD social media. Once a month, one honored staff member will be recognized by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower with a visit to their school and a $25 Visa gift card donated by Credit Union of Georgia!
