Happy Sunday to our RedHawk Nation,

Join the Specials teachers for an evening of Family fun STEM activities! Meet us in the cafeteria at 6:00 pm this Tuesday, November 19th to hear about each option and then accomplish as many activities as you can between 6:15 and 7:15.  Participants will earn RedHawk tickets at each event to determine the Top STEM Night Tribe.  Hope to see you there!

Speaking of colder weather: The District now has the ability to notify all parents within minutes of a closure decision due to inclement weather,?Atlanta media are not our priority mode of communication?(and they sometimes take 30 minutes or more to add us to their closure list after we notify them). Remember, that all?trustworthy information will be sent?via email, text, and/or automated email from the District and/or the school.? Does the front office have your most current contact information in our system?? Cherokee County School District has procedures and guidelines inclement weather.? You may access this information at ?https://www.cherokeek12.net/Content2/school-closure-decision-process

Early Release from school in the Event of Inclement Weather (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):

In this situation, we will utilize the Emergency Dismissal Instructions you indicated when you completed Back-To-School Gateway at the beginning of the year.? Please do not call the school on the day of an early release to make any last-minute changes, as our office staff will be diligently working with our transportation department to safely transport our 1,200+ students during dismissal.? Prearranged plans should be in place and known to your student.? If you indicated that your child will go home on the bus, please be certain someone will pick them up from their bus stop if you are not at home.? If children are old enough to walk themselves home from the bus stop, please be certain they have a way to enter the home or know which neighbor’s house to go to.? If you need to verify what you indicated this year for your child’s Emergency Dismissal Instructions or need to make a change to those instructions, please email our registrar, Ms. Nancy Partin @ Nancy.partin@cherokeek12.net this week.

Word of the Week:

Generosity/Service – Willingness to give and share unselfishly your time and talents in your community. Our character words are important for Red Hawks to not only know, but also exhibit inside and outside of school. The Tawa tribe supports Relay for Life by joining the Relay for Life team, walking in the Relay for Life event in April at Etowah High school, creating posters, & hosting events to raise money.

There will be no ASP on Friday, December 20th.   We are providing you this information early to help you plan on alternative childcare options for this day.  If your child attends ASP on Fridays, please complete the attached form and return to your child’s homeroom teacher by December 11th.  If your child will be a car rider and you do not have a car rider tag, you will need to stop by our front office to purchase one.

Clark Creek families, we have attached the reading tip for the month of November.  Please try it at home with your students. They are available in English and Spanish. If you have any questions, please contact your Parent Facilitator: Livi Avila livi.avila@cherokeek12.net

CAFETERIA BOOKMARKER DAY!

Purchase your breakfast from the cafeteria on Friday, Nov. 22 and receive a GOBBLE UP Bookmarker!

From PTA:

Redhawk Parents! Happy start of your week! Thank you so much for all you have done to help your school through our PTA Fundraiser. This week is packed with fun incentives for your students. Please ask them about all they are learning in their character lessons AS WELL AS the fun nightly challenges! There will be Pajama Day, a Secret Mission, Pie in the Face, and many more!

We’re making great progress to reach our goal of $20,000!!! Keep collecting and logging those pledges. If you haven’t registered your student already, it’s not too late!! Go to FUNRUN.COM and be on the lookout this week for more fun incentives for the students!! Pledging ends on Friday, November 22nd!!

Action steps for you:

  1. Send out your students funrun.com link to family, friends, peers, and coworkers
    • A very successful idea is to film your student asking for pledges and send that out to family and friends
  2. Any cash or check is also very welcome- send that with your student to the front office and we will take care of it ??
  3. On Tuesday, November 19th, we will have a Boosterthon PJ DAY for a $1 donation.
  4. 10-15 volunteers will be needed on the day of the Glow Run on Friday, November 22nd. Please sign up here: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/30e0b4aaaae2aa31-redhawk1/71206397
  5. Have fun with your student as they are having a BLAST with the Redhawk Glow Run program!

We are so grateful for you and could not do this without you!
