End of School Year Parent Information

Posted On: Friday, May 1, 2020

I hope this email finds you well.  This message contains some very important information about locker clean-out and the return of WMS materials to school including textbooks, library books and laptops.  Please read the attachment carefully.  There are several scenarios for pick-up, and we need families to adhere to the instructions for organizational purposes and to protect the safety of all of those involved.  If you have any questions, please email your grade level administrator.  You will also be able to pick-up any medicines or medical items from the nurse on the listed dates.

WMS Summer Pickup and Locker Clean-out

Reminder that May 8th will be the last day for the delivery of new material.  The following two weeks will be devoted to remediation and recovery.  It is the responsibility of the parents and/or students to contact the teacher and discuss the options to remediate and recover any assignments since March 16.  Our teachers will also communicate to your students via Canvas, but please check in with your teachers to make sure any an all outstanding assignments are confirmed.

We are happy to announce that we have started writing refund checks for the 8th grade Savannah trip, the 6th grade field trip and 7th grade shirts.  We are still waiting on funds from Disney for our band trip, but expect those shortly.  Refund checks will start getting mailed next week.

CCSD School Nutrition staff will distribute to-go bags of food to students in need every Monday through May 18th.  A child, infant to age 18, must be present in order for a bag to be provided.  These bags will contain a week of breakfasts and lunches for a child.

Drive-through stations will be set up from 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot or bus lanes of the schools or communities noted below.  Children who do not attend one of the schools noted below can go to the site closest to their home.  To be proactive in “social distancing,” families cannot stay at the site; do not come to a site if you are ill.

8th Grade Families-

I attached some information from Woodstock High School.  Contacts for sports and clubs are listed.  Even though our summer schedule is still undecided, it’s a great idea to reach out to the high school and see what you can be working on over the summer.  Most athletic programs will have summer workouts for you, and many clubs and activities have summer plans as well.  Take it from a former head coach and Athletic Director, you need to get involved now.  If you wait until August, you will be 2 months behind.
