A Teasley Middle School student was saved from choking on a Life Saver by two life-savers of his own.
Counselor Adina Walker and science teacher Jason Sirard came to the rescue of seventh-grader Kane Chandler when they saw him in distress during school on Thursday. They used the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the candy and save Kane.
“Our teachers and staff truly care about the lives of the students they serve, and we’re so proud of Ms. Walker and Mr. Sirard,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “They stayed calm in a stressful situation, quickly put their training into action and reminded us that all superheroes don’t wear capes. Thank you for your exceptional service – we appreciate you!”
