provide the opportunity for students to take what they learn

in the classroom and compete against other schools in a fast

paced academic quiz format

WES Student Council Justine Smith/Rebecca McArthur

The student council helps share students' ideas, interests,

and concerns with teachers and school principals. They often

also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including

social events, community projects, helping people in

need and school reform.

Book Club Amy Van Fossen

 a variation of traditional Literature Circles in which groups

of students read the same book and have weekly meetings

to discuss their thoughts and feelings about the book.

Robotics Debby Pinion/Danielle Cosey/Jennifer Reardon

Robotics is a competition team that includes coding,

robot design, real world problem solving, and

most importantly:  team work.


Science Olympiad Lacy Saxon/Caitlin Crews

Science Olympiad is a great extracurricular for students

who enjoy science, math, or engineering. 

Girls on the Run Amber Smith/Caroline Bagwell

Girls on the run is a club which promotes healthy lifestyles

through running together, building friendships, and challenging

each other along the way.

Chorus Club David Row

Chorus students learn many singing skills. These include the ability to

use singing posture and breathing techniques to support vocal production

Safety Patrol Allison Toole

Safety Patrol students help facilitate the arrival and departure of students

ensuring they are safe upon entering and exiting the building.
