Our Principals are dedicated leaders, and we’ll be introducing you over the coming days to Principals who are new to the role or who are serving at new schools this year. Please help us celebrate Woodstock Elementary School’s new leader: Principal Ann Jordan!
Ann Jordan is a teacher’s teacher, known for her ability to coach educators to higher levels of success.
The 16-year educator brought these skills with her to Woodstock Elementary School, where she served as an assistant principal and now leads the school as its Principal.
“I’m excited to serve Woodstock students, parents, and teachers,” she said. “Together we will work to create a positive learning environment where students develop academically, emotionally, physically, and socially to the best of their ability.”
Principal Jordan began her education career as a teacher in Cobb County schools before joining CCSD as a Clark Creek ES STEM Academy teacher. She then served as an instructional lead strategist at Johnston ES, where she focused on coaching teachers to improve their instructional skills.
“We want our Principals to be instructional leaders, who understand best practices for effective teaching and who can foster them in their faculty -- Ann has mastered this skillset,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “She leads, she coaches, and she shows great care for every student and every teacher and staff member.”
She has earned bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degrees in education, as well as a long list of certifications and endorsements including instructional coaching, educational data analysis, STEM and English for Speakers of Other Languages. A graduate of Superintendent’s Leadership Academy I and II, she has served on Superintendent’s ad hoc committees to adopt new English Language Arts resources, design more rigorous lesson plans and transition to a standards-based report card for elementary students. Principal Jordan and her husband, Jeremy, have two grown children.
How can parents be more involved? “I highly encourage parents to join the PTA and support the classroom.”
