Six Cherokee County School District Class of 2020 graduates have earned scholarships from ABM Industry Groups LLC.
The company, which provides custodial services for CCSD schools, each year awards a $1,000 scholarship to one graduating senior from each of CCSD’s high schools. The six winners are selected by a scholarship committee of retired CCSD educators and ABM representatives based on a student’s involvement in school and community activities and service; personal essays; and references.
The Class of 2020 winners are: Lauren Haymore of Cherokee HS, Margaret Klements of Creekview HS, Jenna Doran of Etowah HS, Daniel Acosta of River Ridge HS, Jack Belisle of Sequoyah HS, and Ella Elbeck of Woodstock HS.
“Congratulations to each of these outstanding graduates and best wishes as you continue your education and begin your careers,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “We appreciate ABM’s support and its focus on honoring students who choose to lead and serve in their schools and communities.”
