The Cherokee County School District Class of 2020 earned average ACT scores that topped National and State results and continued to rank among Georgia’s top 10 county school systems!
 
The Class scored an excellent 22.6 average, exceeding Georgia’s 21.7 and the Nation’s 20.6, on the competitive college entrance and placement examination.  Students earn a score on a scale of 1 to 36.  The ACT is taken in lieu of or along with the SAT, and the Class of 2020’s ACT scores follow outstanding SAT results released earlier this fall.  For the Class of 2020, 49% of graduates took the ACT.

“I’m so proud of our Class of 2020 graduates for yet another accomplishment achieved during a challenging year,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “No matter the obstacles, our students and teachers work together to master the knowledge needed for future success, and we’re so grateful to them and to the staff, families, volunteers and partners who support them.”

Scores from all six of CCSD’s high schools all again landed in the top 20% of all Georgia high schools and surpassed both the State and National averages: Cherokee HS, 22.3; Creekview HS, 22.5; Etowah HS, earning the highest composite at 23.2; River Ridge HS, 22.1; Sequoyah HS, 23.1; and Woodstock HS, 22.6.
