On behalf of the Superintendent, please see the following announcements:
• The Cherokee County School Board at its meeting tonight made no changes to the current CCSD Reopening of School Plan at https://bit.ly/CCSDplan20. The School Board unanimously approved CCSD’s annual budget, which includes significant investments in our reopening plan including more than $4 Million in additional health and safety measures. You can read the Board Business Briefs recap at https://bit.ly/CCSDbbb71620.
• If you plan to keep your child home to participate in our Digital Learning program instead of returning to school on Aug. 3, then you must by 5 p.m. Friday, July 17, complete the commitment form online at https://bit.ly/CCSDdlcommit20. The questionnaire you completed last month did NOT enroll your child in Digital Learning. We have continuously updated our FAQs online at https://bit.ly/CCSDfaqs20. If you’re favoring Digital Learning but have an unanswered question, we advise you to go ahead and enroll; if, when your question is answered, you decide you prefer Traditional In-Person or withdrawing to home school, you still have those choices.
• If you plan to send your child back to our campuses for Traditional In-Person learning, you don’t need to do anything further. You will receive an email on July 29 asking you to complete our usual Back-to-School Gateway process to confirm emergency contacts and update other data. We have created a webpage compiling all available school supply lists at https://bit.ly/CCSDsupply20; all supply lists will be posted by July 27.
• CCSD has launched a Fact vs. Fiction webpage at https://bit.ly/CCSDfacts. In these times of “fake news” circulated on social media and by “unofficial” social media groups, this new webpage is a place where you can find accurate information in a timely manner. This is an expansion of CCSD’s long-standing commitment to transparency and accountability and a part of our nationally recognized Open CCSD transparency project and webpage at https://bit.ly/OpenCCSD.
